Jaguar released New XJ Teaser in Video

Jaguar released today a teaser video for the new XJ model along with details for the upcoming release. As you can see, Jaguar hasn't revealed much – but the top-down view does show that the newcomer gets a panormaic glass roof for the first time. According to sources, this will be an option on the finished car. The XJ will be the first car produced with aerospace-derived technology, with aluminum body architecture .

Already known was that the new XJ would be fitted with that 510 bhp 5.0 liter supercharged V8 with 625 Nm of churning and cranking torque, the same engine recently introduced in the Land Rover Range Rover. The V6 diesel will also be a winner in diesel-heavy markets. The 3.0 liter turbo-diesel engine features 271 bhp and 600 Nm of torque, almost as much as the supercharged V8, and a solid 40 mpg (UK) mileage rating (7 liters per 100 km).

Jaguar will begin taking orders for the XJ after its unveiling in July for delivery in early 2010. The XJ goes on sale in dealer showrooms at the end of 2009.

An all-new Jaguar XJ will make its public debut this July – and today saw the preview and release of first information on this breathtaking new Jaguar.

* The all-new XJ will go on sale at the end of 2009 - but will officially be revealed on July 9th in London.
* The all-new XJ is the first car to feature the next-generation of Jaguar's aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture.
* All of Jaguar's new ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new XJ, including the already acclaimed V6 diesel and 510 bhp supercharged V8.
* There will be a choice of standard- or long wheelbase models.
* The all-new XJ will introduce the highest standards of personal luxury and specification, including a panoramic glass roof.

Full details of the all-new XJ including prices will be revealed on July 9th and orders for delivery in early 2010 will be taken from this time.

Michael Bay has released the full two-and-a-half-minute Transformers

Are you man enough to handle Bumblebee crying? Michael Bay has posted the entire ShoWest presentation he put together of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen footage, featuring a full 2-minute scene and a montage of clips with our first look at Devastator. As cheesy as that first scene was, or at least as funny as it was, I should say, the final minute of this presentation completely makes up for it. Damn this looks so good, and Bay was right about packing this sequel with a ton more robots this time! There are so many shown in this that I can't even count them all, it's hard to even spot them. Official: Opel Insignia OPC technology revealed

The new Insignia VXR from Vauxhall (a.k.a. Opel Insignia OPC), which comes with a total of 325hp, a complex 4-wheel drive chassis and a sprint rate from 0-60mph in under six seconds, is ready to be introduced to the mid-size performance saloon market when it becomes available for sale early this summer.


The new adaptive 4-wheel drive system with an electronic limited slip differential, which provides the Insignia OPC...sorry, the VXR, with plenty of grip and a smooth transfer of power from the drivetrain to the bespoke chassis to the road. The chassis was developed with testing at the Nurburgring track in Germany and lets the VXR sit 10 millimeters lower than the SRi Insignia. The HiPerStrut front suspension keeps torque-steer down and pushes the load back to maintain cornering grip in both wet and dry conditions.


At the core of the Insignia VXR is the advanced 2.8-liter V6 Turbo ECOTEC powerplant from Vauxhall, with a crank made from micro-alloy forged steel, typical 60-degree cylinder angle and die-cast alloy oil sump, features that exist in many racing powerplants. The engine can generate 325PS (up by 65PS compared to the Elite V6) utilizing a single, twin-scroll turbocharger and adaptable valve control for speeding throttle reaction, and has a sprint rate of 0-60mph in just 5.8 seconds, and a maximum electronically limited speed of 155mph. The Insignia VXR’s design was inspired by the Vauxhall/Opel GTC with many of it styling cues familiar to those who have seen the groundbreaking concept at the Geneva in 2007.


The Insignia VXR will come as a 4-door sedan, 5-door hatch or Sports Tourer model.

Pricing details are not yet available.

So, let the British feel good that the Vauxhall marque is still around. Sure, go ahead.

The 2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster and 2009 Nissan NISMO 370Z will be unveiled during a live webcast tonight at 7 PM EST, but we've got the details on both models ahead of their official debut.

For those who find the standard 370Z too pedestrian for their tastes, a NISMO edition is on its way later this year. Like the last NISMO Z, the 2009 model sports a larger rear wing, new bumper and an aggressive front splitter, along with standard 19-inch RAYS ultra-lightweight wheels shod in Yokohama Advan Sport tires. The suspension and brakes get the usual array of upgrades to make the NISMO more amenable to track use and the VQ V6 gets a bump up from 332 hp to 350 hp at 7,400 rpm, thanks in part to a new exhaust and a revised ECU. Power goes from the close ratio six-speed manual 'box (the only transmission available) to the rear axle through a carbon fiber driveshaft. Press releases and specs for both cars are after the jump, and expect pricing and availablity to be announced before spring gives way to summer.

The Roadster retains the same greasy bits as the coupe, but adds open air action in the form of a new power-operated, fully-lined fabric top with a glass rear window. The top automatically connects to the windshield header so the driver doesn't have to fiddle around with a latch and it can be lowered or raised from inside or out, through the use of an interior-mounted switch or a button on the door handle. A glass wind blocker between the headrests keeps buffeting to a minimum without impacting visibility, and although we haven't seen the new 370Z convertible with its top up, we've been assured it's far more attractive than its predecessor.

New Kia Sorento gets its video debut

The outgoing Kia Sorento may be known more for its affordable price tag than its luxury appointments, but the Korean automaker is looking to change that with a 2010 overhaul. And when we say overhaul, the transformation is complete, save for the carryover name.


The new Sorento goes from a body-on-frame SUV to a unibody crossover. Not only does the new Sorento have a third row of seats and more cargo space, it'll likely return superior fuel economy as well. The new Kia Sorento also wears more modern-looking sheet metal, a better looking interior, and amenities like iPod support. Engines for the US market haven't yet been announced, but we're expecting Kia's 3.8L V6 and a base 2.4L four cylinder model.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe First Drive with video

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is receiving more than its fair share of attention of late, and with good reason. It's a very compelling 2+2 sports coupe bargain with a $22,000 base price, and it's motivated by the rear wheels. The Berlin-based tuner TH AUTOMOBILE specializes in the T4 and T5 of Volkswagen. Cars you will not soon find. In this white Volkswagen T5 Multivan, the original engine to make a block from a GT2 Porsche 996. The result is a T5 with 807 nm on the rear wheels. Because the block is placed back of the front mounted fuel tank for better weight distribution.


Many parts of the original suspension have been replaced for more Porsche parts, not very ill with a top speed of 280 km /. The 3.6 liter twin-turbo block colossus in this sprint 5.1 seconds to 100 km / h.

2008 Chanel Fiore Design Concept in Video

Luxury brand buyers are chosen not for their practicality and functionality, and above all, for style, beauty and prestige. Jin Young Jo offers nebezyzvestnomu brand Chanel get their own car, the name he received Fiole.


Execution of the project is quite decent - good sketches, good design, interesting video presentation, and shape of the body is easy to read. Company logo of Chanel guessed and front lines, and at the rear of the sidewall Fiole.


The student created the Chanel Fiole concept as part of a class project. Using the words "Fashion Art of Vehicle," and being assigned the brand label famous for everything from perfume & makeup to watches & jewelry, Jin developed what he felt was a matching concept. "Fiole is inspired by the peculiarity of Chanel," he said. To elaborate this "peculiarity" he used only deep blacks and reflective whites. In his video animation of the vehicle, it is hard to tell if the car is black, or white reflecting its dark surroundings. An aerodynamic form was also important to Jin for the purpose of this project. Hence, he designed the Fiole in such a way that it


Such a vehicle could stand at the head of all the products offered by Chanel, and buyers would be found. Why not.

Any time you spend $100,000 or more on a vehicle, it's clearly an emotional decision. It's hard to rationalize an expenditure of that magnitude on, say, a Bentley, when a Chevy Cobalt will get you to the grocery store just as easily.

New York Auto Show: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG

Almost any series without AMG-top model - that is the motto of Mercedes. The AMG version of the current Mercedes E-Class, the E 63 AMG, is on the New York Auto Show premiere.


The new Mercedes E 63 AMG will continue with the proven 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, which, however, at eleven hp to 525 hp has increased. The maximum torque is at 630 Nm, and is now on the seven-speed sports automatic transmission from the SL 63 AMG at the rear wheels forward.


In electronically controlled chassis Mercedes AMG is the first time on a mix of steel springs at the newly constructed front axle and air suspension at the rear axle. Today, we have a new video with the 5 Series GT and even though the interviewee, Herr Hans-Jurgen Branz, Project Manager for the 5 Series GT, speaks in German, I think you will find the video quite interesting.

The 5-series GT is an elevated sedan/coupe, what BMW has elected to call a PAS (Progressive Active Vehicle), meant to deliver on cabin atmospherics. At about the 2:25 mark, the video gives the viewer a feel for what it's like inside the car with its high seating positions and the panorama glass roof - a radiant sense of space and style that telegraphs luxury and sophistication and ultimate comfort.

Video: Tazzari ZERO EV to Arrive in North America Early 2010

A new electric vehicle is to be produced in Italy under the name Tazzari Zero. By the beginning of 2010 these cars will have begun their import journey into North America through a company called Verdek-EV. Verdek-EV was appointed as the sole distributor for the North America, Mexico and the Caribbean islands region. The Tazzari brand is situated in Italy within the same region as Ferrari and Lamborghini, but unlike those exotics it will concentrate on small electric vehicles.



The lithium-ion battery-powered Tazzari Zero has been tested to return a range of about 88 miles (142km) before a recharge which can take 6.5 hours on a 220 volt power supply unit. It has a rear-wheel-drive motor with peak torque of 150Nm. Tazzari says the Zero produces no emissions and has a top speed of 56mph but it can be limited to between 25mph and 45mph if required.

Measured dimensions for the two-door mini car are 2.88 metres for length, 1.55 metres width and 1.4 metres height.


For interior comfort features that are included are a radio/CD/MP3 player, leather steering wheel, air conditioning, fog lamps, LED tail lights, a removable sunroof and 15-inch custom coloured wheels.

The car's first public showing will be at the Bologna International Motor Show in December. The estimated launch price should be less than €20,000 a pop.
